Spoken Language
Spoken language continues to underpin the development of pupils'
reading and writing. Tutors ensure pupils' confidence and
competence in this area continues to develop. Pupils will be
taught to understand and use the conventions for discussion and
debate.
Reading (Critical reading and comprehension)
Pupils will be encouraged to appreciate the depth and power of
the English literary heritage through reading a wide range of
